Description

Classic Car Addict would like to present this 1971 Chevrolet El Camino SS 454 with 3285 miles in our Mesa, AZ showroom. This SS was professionally restored. It was built at GM’s VanNuys, CA plant the 3rd week of June 1971. For almost the entirety of its history, there was only one model of the El Camino available, though Chevy made this fact attractive by providing a slew of different options. One popular option was the SS sports package that provided distinctive exterior trim and 15-inch wheels. EXTERIOR The 1971 El Camino got fresh front-end styling (again shared with the Chevelle) that included large Power-Beam single-unit headlights, a reworked grille and bumper, and integral park/signal/marker lights. Finished in GM code 78 Rosewood Red paint with the tuxedo black D88 SS stripe package, and cowl induction hood. INTERIOR This El Camino is near flawless; no rips, tears, or stains can be found. Bucket seats, door panels, center console and dash have a clean style. It features Light Sandalwood SS bucket seat interior, original push button Delco radio, and console shift with GM staple shifter. All gauges work properly. POWERTRAIN 454 CID V8 engine, turbo hydramatic 3-speed automatic transmission, power steering, power disc brakes, and a 12 bolt posi-traction rear differential. It fires up readily and sounds strong. CHASSIS The 116-inch wheelbase that all 1970-1972 El Caminos utilized came courtesy of their boxed-rail perimeter frames with welded front and rear cross-members. This heavy-duty frame was shared with station wagons and is interchangeable with those underpinning 1968-1972 wagons and El Caminos. DOCUMENTATION/EXTRAS This El Camino comes with owner’s manual, sales literature, and two seats of keys. This vehicle will be sold on a clean Arizona title.
