Classic Car Addict is proud to present this numbers matching 1962 Chevrolet Corvette Roadster for sale in our Mesa, AZ showroom. With a new larger engine, the 1962 Corvette was the quickest to date. Displacement of the small-block V8 increased from 283ci (4,640 cc) to 327ci (5,360 cc), which produced 250 hp in its base single 4-barrel carburetor version. 1962 was the last year for the solid axle and for the external trunk until the 1998 C5. Despite its origins and its undeniable ties to the very first Corvette, the 1962 was faster, handled better, was more physically appealing, and was the most completely realized and most civilized of any Corvette made to date, though it continued to retain much of the pioneering imagination that made Harley Earl’s 1953 concept car such a triumph at its unveiling. Sales of the 1962 Corvette jumped by 40 percent from the previous year, with sales totaling 14,531 units. This 62 Corvette went through an extensive restoration in 1993. All mechanical and cosmetic work was completed. During the restoration, the body was removed, stripped, and painted in a beautiful GM color, Bahama Blue Poly. It also features a new white convertible top that was installed with all new weatherstrip. Another subtle change we love in the C1 is the side spears to the coves and the new black grille. Let’s not forget those beautiful chrome rocker panels. The interior is just as beautiful as the exterior. All interior components from the carpet to the seat covers were replaced. The complete instrument cluster and clock were rebuilt and refinished as well. While the car looks great with the top in place, we know that your favorite days will be the ones with the top down. The restoration made sure this was a clean/crisp example of a beautiful sports car. The steering wheel has those thin grips and the cue ball on the top of the shifter is another bonus for comfort while driving. This one features a Sanyo AM/cassette player that is functional. With a beautiful presentation inside and out, its what’s under the hood that keeps this Corvette a classic. This is the ideal year where it was the only time the C1 generation had the larger 327ci V8 with a fuel-injected option (engine code 3782870, casting code F0425RD, VIN on engine block 2110619) V8-327 300hp, 10.5:1, 4brl, HPE, M/T RD engine brooch marks are still present. The complete suspension was rebuilt to factory specifications. The engine and all its components were completely rebuilt or replaced. All the wiring harnesses from the front to the rear of the C1 were also replaced. We do have all receipts and documents for the restoration.
